New contractor operating Cedar Rapids schools’ child care programming next year

CEDAR RAPIDS — Ahead of- and right after-university kid care will be obtainable at all Cedar Rapids elementary and middle educational institutions beginning upcoming year with the addition of a new independent contractor KCE Champions LLC.

The Cedar Rapids Local community Faculty District board permitted a just one-year agreement with the corporation on Monday in the consent agenda with no discussion.

The Cedar Rapids district does not at the moment have just before- and after-school programming at all of its elementary and center faculty structures, and the application it does have is not “consistent,” Deputy Superintendent Nicole Kooiker explained in an e-mail.

“We experienced parent requests for alternatives for prolonged studying and also programming that would be extra inexpensive and obtainable for our students and family members,” Kooiker reported.
